Password protection
Add an extra layer of security by requiring a password to view your project. Works with any visibility level.
What is password protection?
Password protection requires viewers to enter a password before they can access your project. This adds security on top of your visibility settings.
- Works with Unlisted and Public visibility
- Viewers see a password prompt before the content loads
- You control who gets the password
- Can be enabled or disabled at any time
When to use password protection
Client presentations
Share work with specific clients while preventing unauthorized access if the link gets shared.
Confidential content
Protect sensitive materials like pricing catalogs, internal documents, or exclusive content.
Event-specific access
Share a password with event attendees or members of a specific group.
Setting up password protection
- Open your project in the editor
- Go to the Share tab in the sidebar
- Find the Password Protection section
- Toggle the switch to enable protection
- Enter your desired password
- Save your changes
How it works for viewers
When someone visits a password-protected project:
- They see a password prompt instead of the content
- After entering the correct password, the project loads
- The password is remembered for their session
- They can interact with the project normally
Best practices
Use strong passwords
Avoid simple passwords like "1234" or "password". Use a combination of letters and numbers.
Share passwords securely
Send the password through a different channel than the link (e.g., link via email, password via message).
Change passwords when needed
If access should expire or if the password was shared too widely, simply change it.
Visibility + Password
Password protection works alongside visibility settings. An Unlisted project with a password requires both the link AND the password to access.
Embeds and password protection
Password-protected projects will show the password prompt when embedded on other websites.
Removing password protection
To remove the password requirement:
- Go to the Share tab in your project
- Toggle off the Password Protection switch
- The project will be immediately accessible without a password
