Custom domains
Serve a project or a collection from your own domain, so you share catalog.yourbrand.com instead of an i3dify.com link.
Custom domains are on the Pro, Business and Enterprise plans.
Why use a custom domain
- Your brand in the address
- Visitors recognize where the link comes from
- Easier to remember and to type
- HTTPS included, with a certificate set up for you
- Served from a global network, so it loads fast everywhere
What you need
- A Pro, Business or Enterprise plan
- A domain you own, like yourbrand.com
- Access to your domain's DNS settings
- A project or collection set to Unlisted or Public, and saved
Setting up a custom domain
Open the Share tab
Open the project, or the collection, and go to its Share tab. The Custom Domain section is at the bottom. Each project or collection takes one domain: to change it, remove the current one first.
Add your domain
Type the domain or subdomain you want to use and press Add. For example:
- catalog.yourbrand.com (subdomain)
- portfolio.yourname.com (subdomain)
- yourbrand.com (root domain)
Add the DNS records
i3Dify shows the records to add at your DNS provider:
TXT record, for verification
Name: _i3dify.yourdomain.com
Value: i3d-verify-xxxxxxxxxxxxx
CNAME record, for a subdomain
Name: catalog
Value: cname.vercel-dns.com
A record, for a root domain
Name: @
Value: 76.76.21.21
Some providers offer an ALIAS record for root domains, which works too.
Using Cloudflare DNS?
Set the record to DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied. The orange cloud breaks HTTPS, because Cloudflare and i3Dify would both try to handle it.
Press Verify Domain
DNS changes usually spread within minutes, but can take up to 48 hours. When the records are in place, press Verify Domain. i3Dify doesn't check on its own, so if it isn't ready yet, wait and press it again.
HTTPS certificate
Once the domain is verified, a certificate is set up for it automatically, so it works over HTTPS.
Projects and collections
A project on its own domain opens at the root of that domain. A collection on its own domain does too, its custom pages open at yourdomain.com/page-name, and the projects and Studio pieces in it open under the same domain.
Domain status
Your domain shows one of these statuses:
Waiting for the DNS records to be added and to spread.
The check is running.
The domain is verified and working, with HTTPS.
Verification failed. Check your DNS records and press Verify Domain again.
Troubleshooting
Stuck on Pending Setup
- Check that the DNS records are typed exactly as shown
- Give DNS time to spread, up to 48 hours, then press Verify Domain again
- Make sure you are editing the DNS of the right domain
- Remove any other record for the same name that points somewhere else
Certificate error
- The certificate can take a few minutes after verification
- Subdomains: the CNAME must point to cname.vercel-dns.com
- Root domains: the A record must point to 76.76.21.21
- On Cloudflare DNS, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud)
- Remove any CAA record that blocks Let's Encrypt
The domain doesn't open
- Clear your browser cache
- Try another browser or a private window
- Use an online DNS checker to see whether the records have spread

Root domains
A subdomain like catalog.yourbrand.com is the easiest to set up. A root domain like yourbrand.com works too, with the A record above.
