Can
Your label printed on a 3D drink can that turns on its own. Visitors drag to spin it, zoom in on the artwork, and switch between designs.
Create a CanWhat is a Can project?
A Can project shows your label printed on a 3D drink can. The can turns slowly on its own, so the visitor sees the whole label go by, and they can grab it to spin it themselves. Upload several images and each one becomes a design the visitor can switch to, like a range of flavours on the same can.
- One image is one design. Upload several and visitors switch between them with the arrows, a tap or the dock.
- A wide image, about 1.4 to 1 or wider, wraps all the way around the can like a label. A narrower one, like a logo, is printed centred on the front at its own proportions.
- A wrap label runs all the way round with its seam at the back. The lid and the tab are never printed.
- The can turns on its own until someone drags it. Drag to spin it, flick to keep it spinning, and use the mouse wheel to zoom.
- The colour of the metal, a glossy or matte finish and the can's height are settings.
Best for
Craft breweries
A new release or a seasonal beer on its can, shared before it reaches the shelf.
Drink brands
A whole range of flavours on one can, one design per flavour.
Packaging designers
Show a client the label on a can instead of a flat file.
Product launches
One link for the announcement, the newsletter or the press kit.
Events and limited editions
A festival can, a collab or a one-off run, shown in 3D.
Portfolios
Illustrators and designers showing label work on the object it was made for.
Files and limits
- Designs as JPG, PNG or WebP. A PDF is not accepted.
- For a label all the way around, use a wide image: at the Standard height, about 2.2 to 1 fills the label exactly, for example 2200 by 1000 px. On Auto height, the can grows or shrinks to fit your label.
- On Auto placement, an image about 1.4 to 1 or wider wraps around the can, and a narrower one, like a logo, is printed centred on the front at its own proportions.
- A PNG with a transparent background lets the can colour show around your artwork.
- Upload several at once, or use Import from URL to bring in an image from a web address.
- Uploads count toward your workspace storage: 50 MB on Free, 10 GB on Pro, 25 GB on Business.
Create a can
1. Upload your labels
Open the Content tab and add your artwork. Each image becomes one design on the can.
2. Order and caption them
Drag the designs into the order visitors will see them; the first one is on the can when the page opens. Add a caption to any design, like the flavour, to show it in the counter pill.
3. Pick the look
In Settings, under General, set the metal's colour, the finish, the can's height, and the print placement if Auto picks the wrong one.
4. Share it
Save, then copy the link or the embed code from the Share tab.
Print placement is on Auto by default. If a wide image should sit on the front, or a narrow one should wrap around, change Print placement in Settings.
Settings
Everything below is in the editor's Settings tab, listed under the sub-tab where you find it: General, Scene or Camera.
General
Basic info (the project title and description) sits at the top for every type. Below it come the settings for the object itself.
Object
Color tints the metal of the whole can, lid and tab included; only the body is printed. Finish is glossy (the default) or matte, a brushed, satin look. Can height: Auto (the default) sizes the can to the label, so a taller label makes a taller can, or pick Short (250 ml), Standard (355 ml) or Tall (473 ml).
Print placement is Auto, Wrap around or Front only. Auto wraps images about 1.4 to 1 or wider around the can and prints anything narrower centred on the front. Wrap around fills the label area and crops what does not fit, without stretching. Front only keeps the image at its own proportions on the side facing the visitor. Show counter, on by default, shows the position pill when there are two designs or more.
Sequence
Loop, on by default, goes back to the first design after the last one; off stops at the last. Autoplay, off by default, shows the next design on a timer, with an Interval from 2 to 15 seconds (5).
Scene
What surrounds the object, and the Realism finish over the whole frame.
Background
A solid colour, a gradient or an image of your own (with an optional blur), plus an optional pattern on top.
Realism
Film grain over the whole frame (0 to 100, 15 by default), still or animated grain, and a vignette. The label takes the full grain, so Grain on the content changes nothing on this type.
Camera
Where the view starts and how much visitors can move it.
Motion
Auto-rotate, on by default, turns the can slowly on its own. Dragging stops it, and it starts again 2.5 seconds after the visitor lets go. Rotation speed goes from 0.05 to 1.2 (0.35 by default).
Camera angle
Where the can is seen from at the start. Tilt goes from -15 to 35, Turn up to 60 each way, Move left or right and Move up or down slide the whole view without turning it, and Zoom goes from 0.6 to 1.8.
Hotspots, menu and sounds
Next to Files, the Content tab has two more sub-tabs: Menu and Sounds. This type has no Hotspots tab.
Sounds
Every project type can have background music. Add tracks as MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG or FLAC, up to 20 minutes each. They are compressed to about 1 MB per minute and count toward your workspace storage. You can loop the playlist, set the volume and show a small player next to the dock. Autoplay starts with the visitor's first tap or key press, because browsers block sound until then.
Film it in Studio
Every project type can be filmed in Studio. Open the project's Studio tab, pick camera moves made for this type, and turn the project into a video, a GIF, a still image or a page of its own to share. Studio reads this project's files and settings, so what you set here carries over. Read the Studio docs · See the camera moves for each type
Current limits
- Every design is a still image. There is no video on this project type.
- No hotspots. The print is a picture, not a clickable surface.
- No pinch to zoom on a touch screen, and no swipe to change design: visitors tap or use the dock.
- One can diameter. The height follows the label on Auto, or is one of three sizes (250, 355 or 473 ml). Other shapes are not available.
- A wrap label has a seam at the back, where its two short edges meet.
- It is a preview. i3Dify does not print, sell or ship cans.
- Before the first design is uploaded, the can shows a placeholder print.
Tips
- At the Standard height, make wrap labels about 2.2 to 1 so nothing is cropped.
- Keep text away from the left and right edges of a wrap label. Those edges meet at the seam at the back.
- Use a PNG with a transparent background for a logo, so the can colour shows around it.
- Put your strongest design first. It is the one on the can when the page opens.
- A slow rotation speed reads as a product shot. A fast one gets tiring quickly.
- Turn on Autoplay with Loop for a screen at a stand or in a shop window.

The can model is derived from "aluminium can- 350ml" by sidbeyond on Sketchfab, used under the Sketchfab Standard license. It was rescaled and its materials replaced so it can carry your label.
