Formats
What you can download from Studio: video formats, still images, sizes and frame rates. The tables are read from the same lists the editor uses.
Video

- Fast: Encoded by your browser's built-in video encoder.
- Slower: Encoded in your browser by i3dify's own encoder, one frame at a time, on the processor.
MP4 and WebM are offered only when your browser can encode them, and they also need a browser that can render frame by frame, such as Chrome or Edge. Firefox cannot, so there Studio shows a message instead of an MP4 or WebM file. GIF and still images do not need it.
Still image
Take the frame under the playhead as an image, at the same sizes as video.

Shapes and sizes
The shape belongs to the composition, so changing it re-frames the shots. The size is chosen when you download, and every plan gets every size.

Width by height, in pixels. The quality fixes the long edge and the shape sets the other.
Frame rate and length
- Frame rate: 24, 30, 60 fps.
- GIF runs at up to 20 fps, whatever you pick.
- Length: no maximum. A piece lasts as long as its shots.
Why there is no ProRes or transparent video
Studio encodes in your browser, and a browser can only write opaque video: H.264, VP8 or VP9. There is no encoder for ProRes, QuickTime Animation or video with an alpha channel, so Studio does not offer a file it cannot make. For the same reason, a shot with a Transparent background comes out black in the file.
What never ends up in a file
- Hotspots. They can appear on the shared page, never in a video or an image.
- Live websites on a mockup screen. They come out blank, and the editor warns you.
Files from the Free plan carry the i3dify mark. On paid plans it is a switch in the download panel, off by default.
