Background customization
Set the perfect backdrop for your 3D projects. Choose from solid colors, gradients, or custom images.
Background types
In the Appearance tab, you'll find three background options:
Solid color
A single, uniform color fills the entire background. Best for:
- Clean, minimalist presentations
- Brand consistency (use your brand color)
- High contrast with your content
- Fast loading times
Gradient
A smooth transition between two or more colors. Best for:
- Modern, dynamic feel
- Adding visual interest without distraction
- Creating depth behind your content
- Matching multi-color brand palettes
Choose from 20+ preset gradients (Midnight, Sunset, Ocean, Aurora, and more) or create custom gradients with your own colors.
Custom image
Upload your own background image. Best for:
- Brand-specific environments
- Themed presentations (events, seasons)
- Creating immersive atmospheres
- Product photography backdrops
Use subtle, low-contrast images so they don't compete with your content. The image cropper helps you position it perfectly.
Pattern overlays
Add subtle patterns on top of your background for extra visual interest. Patterns are semi-transparent and work with any background type.

Setting a background
For solid colors:
- Go to the Appearance tab
- Select Solid as the background type
- Click the color picker to choose a color
- Or enter a hex code directly (e.g., #1a1a2e)
For gradients:
- Go to the Appearance tab
- Select Gradient as the background type
- Choose the starting color
- Choose the ending color
- Select the gradient direction
For images:
- Go to the Appearance tab
- Select Image as the background type
- Click to upload an image or drag and drop
- Use the crop tool to position your image
- Save your selection
Image guidelines
For the best background images:
Do
- Use high-resolution images (1920x1080+)
- Choose subtle, blurred backgrounds
- Use muted or dark colors
- Consider how content will overlay
- Compress images for fast loading
Avoid
- Busy, high-contrast images
- Images with lots of text
- Very bright or neon colors
- Low-resolution or pixelated images
- Images larger than 5MB

Beyond the background, you can also customize:
Cover Color (Flipbook)
The color of the book spine and cover edges. Match your brand or content theme.
Ribbon Color (Lanyard)
The color of the lanyard ribbon that holds the card. Customize to match your event or brand.
Default zoom
Set how zoomed in the viewer starts. Range from 0.5x to 2x.
