What is AI image generation?
Instead of designing or uploading a card image, you can describe what you want in plain text and our AI will create it for you. This is perfect if you:
- Don't have design skills or software
- Need a quick, professional-looking card
- Want to experiment with different styles
- Need a placeholder before your final design
How to use
- Create or open a Lanyard project
- Go to the Content tab in the sidebar
- Look for the AI generation button (sparkles icon)
- Enter your description in the text field
- Click Generate and wait a few seconds
- Review the result - regenerate if needed
Writing effective prompts
The quality of your generated image depends on how well you describe it. Here are tips for great prompts:
Be specific about colors
Instead of "professional colors", say exactly what you want:
Describe the style
Tell the AI what aesthetic you want:
- "minimalist" - clean, simple design
- "modern" - contemporary, trendy look
- "corporate" - professional, business-appropriate
- "vintage" - retro, classic feel
- "futuristic" - tech-forward, sci-fi inspired
Mention the purpose
Context helps the AI create appropriate designs:
- "conference badge for tech event"
- "business card for marketing agency"
- "VIP pass for music festival"

Include layout details
Specify where elements should be:

Tips for best results

- 2If you don't like the result, regenerate - each generation is unique

Current limitations
Keep in mind these limitations of AI image generation:
- Text in images may not be accurate - AI struggles with specific text
- Results vary - you may need to generate multiple times
- Complex logos are hard to reproduce accurately
- Very specific designs may require manual design work
- Generation takes a few seconds
For cards requiring exact logos or text, consider uploading a pre-made image instead.
