Embed an interactive 3D viewer in Beehiiv

Beehiiv supports custom HTML blocks on newsletter posts and landing pages. Drop an i3dify iframe — your subscribers flip through a real 3D book or card inline.

Why this works

Beehiiv's Custom HTML block accepts arbitrary HTML including iframes (a Substack restriction Beehiiv intentionally lifted). The i3dify viewer drops in like any other widget — no plugin, no platform-specific tweaks.

Step-by-step

4 steps from PDF to live embed

  1. 1

    Publish your i3dify project

    Create a flipbook (for book samples), business card (for author press kit), or album (for visual content). Set visibility to Public or Unlisted. Copy the iframe code from the Share panel.

  2. 2

    Add a Custom HTML block in Beehiiv

    In the Beehiiv post editor or landing-page builder, click + → Custom HTML. The block accepts raw HTML including iframe tags.

  3. 3

    Paste the iframe

    Paste the i3dify iframe code. Save the block. Preview the post to see the 3D viewer render inline.

  4. 4

    Optional: use on landing pages

    Beehiiv's landing-page builder also supports Custom HTML. Embed the 3D viewer on your subscribe page for a lead-magnet preview — newsletters with interactive previews convert higher.

The code

Copy this into Beehiiv

<iframe
  src="https://i3dify.com/view/YOUR_PROJECT_ID"
  width="100%"
  height="600"
  frameborder="0"
  allowfullscreen
  loading="lazy"
></iframe>

Note: Beehiiv renders the iframe in both the web version of the newsletter and the email version (where supported by email clients — Gmail and Apple Mail handle iframes inconsistently; the web version always works).

Heads-up

Beehiiv-specific things to know

Email-client iframe support is inconsistent

Most email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) strip or skip iframes in the actual email. The 3D viewer renders fully on the web version of the newsletter. Subscribers who tap "View in browser" get the full experience.

Add a fallback image with a link

For email opens, include an image of the viewer cover (uploaded as a standard image block) linking to the i3dify URL. Subscribers who can't see the iframe in their email tap the image to open the viewer in their browser.

Free Beehiiv plan supports this

Custom HTML is available on the free Beehiiv plan. You do not need to upgrade to Grow or Scale to embed an i3dify viewer.

FAQ

Beehiiv embed questions

Will subscribers see the 3D viewer inside the email?

Sometimes. iframe support in email clients is inconsistent — Gmail and Apple Mail handle it differently. The web version of the newsletter (linked at the top of every Beehiiv email) always renders the full viewer. For maximum reach, include both an image fallback and the embed.

Can I use this as a subscriber-only lead magnet?

Yes. Set the i3dify project to Unlisted and password-protect it. Send subscribers the URL + passphrase via Beehiiv automation. Only paid or active subscribers get the password.

Does it work on the Beehiiv free plan?

Yes. Custom HTML blocks are available on Beehiiv free. No need to upgrade just to embed a 3D viewer.

Why Beehiiv instead of Substack?

Substack restricts iframe embeds to a small allowlist of services (YouTube, Spotify, Vimeo). Beehiiv intentionally allows custom HTML, which is why authors and newsletter operators with embed-heavy content increasingly choose Beehiiv.
